Owens Corning Limited Warranty Tiers
Owens Corning offers four limited warranties on residential roofs. The higher the tier, the longer the full-coverage period and the more installation coverage Owens Corning adds, and the higher the bar for the contractor who installs it.

Longest workmanship coverage
Owens Corning’s Platinum Protection Limited Warranty adds limited lifetime workmanship coverage for the original owner, with the first 25 years before proration, subject to Owens Corning’s terms.
Complete roofing system
It requires an entire Owens Corning roofing system: shingles, qualifying underlayment, Hip & Ridge shingles and accessories, new flashing and a full tear-off to the deck.
Registered for you
The installing Platinum Preferred contractor must register the warranty with Owens Corning within 60 days of installation. We take care of it.
Our Up-to-25-Year Craftsmanship Warranty
Separate from any Owens Corning warranty, Peak Precision Contracting backs its roofing work with its own craftsmanship warranty of up to 25 years. This is Peak’s warranty, not Owens Corning’s. The exact term for your project is written into your contract, and we’ll walk you through it before you sign.

What is the difference between an Owens Corning warranty and Peak’s craftsmanship warranty?
Owens Corning’s limited warranties are issued by Owens Corning and cover its products and, on the higher tiers, installation, subject to Owens Corning’s terms. Peak’s up-to-25-year craftsmanship warranty is Peak Precision Contracting’s own warranty on our work. It is separate from any Owens Corning warranty, and its exact term is written into your contract.
Which Owens Corning warranty can only a Platinum Preferred contractor offer?
The Platinum Protection Limited Warranty. Owens Corning states its workmanship terms are valid only when the roofing system is installed by an Owens Corning Roofing Platinum Preferred Contractor.
What does the TRU PROtection period mean?
It is the opening period of an Owens Corning limited warranty when coverage for manufacturing defects includes the labor to repair or replace defective materials. After it ends, coverage is prorated. The length depends on the warranty tier and shingle.
Do I have to use specific products to qualify for an extended warranty?
Yes. Owens Corning requires a complete roofing system: its shingles plus qualifying Hip & Ridge shingles and accessories, and underlayment for Preferred and Platinum Protection. We spec your roof to meet the tier you choose.
Can the warranty transfer if I sell my home?
Owens Corning limited warranties can be transferred one time to the next owner, who must contact Owens Corning within 60 days of the sale. Extended warranties carry a transfer fee, and coverage after transfer depends on when the sale happens, under Owens Corning’s terms.
Who registers the warranty?
For System, Preferred and Platinum Protection, the installing Platinum or Preferred contractor registers the warranty with Owens Corning within 60 days of installation. We handle that registration for our customers.
